Welcome to RIVO! Your privacy and data security are our top priorities. This AI & Data Usage Policy explains how we collect, process, and use AI-driven data to enhance your running experience while ensuring transparency, control, and compliance with privacy laws.


By using RIVO’s website (www.rivo.run), mobile app, smart insoles, and related services (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our Services.

1. Data We Collect

RIVO collects various types of data to optimize AI-powered insights and enhance your training.
This includes:

1.1. Personal Information

  • Account Data: Name, email address, phone number, and profile preferences.

  • Payment Information: Processed securely via third-party providers (Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay).

  • Device Identifiers: IP address, browser type, operating system, and mobile device data.

1.2. Running & Fitness Data

  • Biomechanical Data: Footstrike pattern, cadence, stride length, and ground contact time.

  • Performance Metrics: Speed, distance, vertical oscillation, and power output.

  • AI-Generated Training Data: Personalized form corrections, injury risk analysis, and adaptive workout plans.

1.3. Third-Party Integrations

If you link Strava, Garmin Connect, Apple Health, Google Fit, or other platforms, we may collect:

  • Heart Rate & VO2 Max (if available).

  • Steps, Calories Burned, and Sleep Data (if authorized).

  • Workout Logs (duration, effort, and GPS location for run analysis).

RIVO leverages cutting-edge AI & Machine Learning algorithms to provide:

✅ Adaptive Training Plans – AI adjusts workouts based on fatigue, past sessions, and goals.

strategies.
✅ Data-Driven Injury Prevention – Predictive analysis based on movement patterns.
We use both on-device AI (NPU-powered) and cloud-based analytics to ensure minimal
latency and maximum privacy.

3. How We Protect & Share Your Data

At RIVO, your data belongs to you. We do not sell personal data and only share it under strict conditions:

3.1. Data Security Measures

🔒 Anonymization & Aggregation – Personal data is stripped before AI model training.
🔒 Strict Access Controls – Only authorized personnel access sensitive information.​

3.2. Sharing Data with Trusted Partners

We share data only when necessary, under confidentiality agreements, with:

  • Cloud & Storage Providers (AWS, Google Cloud) – For secure data hosting.

  • Third-Party Fitness Platforms (Strava, Garmin, etc.) – If you authorize integrations.

  • Research & Development Teams – Only using de-identified, aggregated data.


🚫 We do NOT share personal data for advertising purposes without explicit user consent.

4. Data Retention & User Control

We store data only as long as necessary to provide AI-powered insights and comply with legal regulations.

  • Account & Fitness Data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted after 24 months of inactivity.

  • AI Training Data: Aggregated & anonymized for ongoing AI model improvements.

  • Payment Data: Retained only as required by tax and financial regulations.

4.1. User Rights & Data Management

✅ Right to Deletion – Request permanent deletion of personal data.
✅ Right to Restrict Processing – Limit data processing for specific uses.
✅ Right to Data Portability – Export your data in a structured format.

5. AI Decision-Making & Transparency

RIVO uses AI to generate real-time training recommendations, but:

 

  • Decisions are not 100% automated – AI suggests improvements, but users can override adjustments.

  • No AI-based decisions impact payments or access to core services.

  • Users can opt out of AI-driven analysis and use RIVO for manual data tracking.


We continuously refine our AI models based on user feedback and performance improvements, ensuring transparency and fairness in data-driven coaching.

6. Children’s Privacy

RIVO’s AI & Data Services are not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect children’s data without parental consent. If you believe a minor’s data has been collected, contact legal@rivo.run for deletion.

7. International Data Transfers

Since RIVO operates globally, data may be transferred outside your country. We ensure:


🌍 Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) – For EU-US data transfers.
🌍 Privacy Shield & GDPR Compliance – For handling EU-based data securely.
🌍 Minimal Data Transfers – Reducing exposure and improving localized data processing.
